Wyatt Wilson

1987 - 2021

Wyatt Lysander Wilson, Sr. left us on the beautiful morning of Oct. 19, 2021. He was born June 16, 1987, to Thomas and Nena (Tritt) Wilson in Fairbanks, Alaska. Our hearts were broken the day we herd he passed away.
He was born on a hot summer day. We should've known this life would be short because he could never slow down. He was a young man always on the go, making new friends. If there was mischief to be had, Wyatt would find it. Lucky for him, he had his only brother, Delos, looking out for him. They were inseparable; you would always find them together as children.
Wyatt grew up in Fairbanks. He remained close to his mother Nena Wilson's Gwich'in culture. He had enormous love and zest for people. He was always surrounded by family and friends. He had a natural way of knowing everyone he met.
Wyatt loved to jam out on his bass guitar, often entertaining himself and visitors. He attended Southwest Indian Polytechnic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he expanded his educational and Native cultural skills before coming home to Fairbanks to his family.
Wyatt's other hobby was cars. He spent several years working on them. You could always find him in his carport with the lights on until early morning. He just had to keep working once he stated on a car.
Wyatt had his sparkling personality and a love of meeting people; many friends and family miss him.
He leaves behind his mother, Nena Wilson; his father, Tom Wilson (Amy); brother, Delos; and sister, Dionne Tritt; great-uncle William Tritt, and great-aunt, Mary Nathaniel. He is also survived by his godbrother, Jon Jackson, and by his children, Aiyanna Baker, Alice Brielle Wilson and Wyatt Wilson, Jr. Wyatt had too many friends and extended family to list here.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Murray and Mary Wilson; maternal grandparents, George and Helen Tritt; aunts, Mary Schmiender, Laura Rodriguez, Elizabeth Metcalf; and uncle, George Tritt, Jr. And just this year, he lost his first cousins, Bruce D. Law, Samson Peter III and Mark L. James.
We will miss him forever, with his million-dollar smile so wide and filled with sparkles. He'll be missed by his father's family in New York to his mother's family in Venetie and Arctic Village Indian country, and his family and friends in Fairbanks, Anchorage and all the way to Albuquerque and thereabouts.
His beautiful, becoming smile has been extinguished from this Earth but his heart and soul will always be with us. We love you, Wyatt.
Viewing is 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, followed by a noon service at Fairbanks Funeral Home, 3704 Erickson Ave., then home to Arctic Village.
