James (Jim) Krump
December 20, 1951 - January 21, 2025
James (Jim) Alan Krump of Sisseton, SD passed away on January 21, 2025. Funeral mass was held January 23, 2025 at St. Francis Convent Chapel, Hankinson, ND.
James was born on December 20, 1951 to Wilfred and Esther (Hermsen) Krump in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up on the family farm outside of Hankinson, ND with his parents, older brother Ken and younger sister Jean. He graduated from St. Francis Academy in Hankinson, ND in 1969.
Jim married Cheryl Kutter in 1975. They had three children. A daughter, Karla, and two sons, Bryan and Darin.
Jim worked as a lineman for Ottertail Power Company for almost 40 years. He also served his community as a volunteer fireman and rescue squad member. After he retired, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He relished time with his dear friends, Pete and Mina Schmid, Bruce and Jeani Hammer as well as many others. He also loved spending time with his siblings, Ken and Jean, and their families and spent many holidays enjoying their company.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Esther Krump. He is survived by his children, Karla (Dan) Mitchell, Bryan (Jennifer) Krump, Darin Krump (Elle Davidson); and his five grandchildren: Grace and Reece Krump, Zoie and William Krump, and Keargan Mitchell. He is also survived by his brother, Ken (Ginny) Krump; sister, Jean (Tim) Reinke; nieces and nephew, Tara (Jeremy) Steffens, Craig (Katrina) Reinke, and Jaime (Glenn) Adrian. He also left behind six great nieces and nephews: Jace, Rylee, Kinlee, Max, Grey, and Luca.
