After a year, he dropped basketball and pursued his baseball career for State from 1962-to 1965. Wayne served in the Air Force, and once his service was over, he pursued a very successful career in the food industry. Wayne served as assistant manager at North Ridge Country Club for a brief time to start his own company in the food industry. Wayne was a member of North Ridge Country Club since 1989 and enjoyed playing golf with all his buddies. Wayne was also a member of Bayleaf Baptist Church since 1980.
Wayne is survived by the love of his life for 50 years, his wife Sophie Patellis Dunn, his daughter Jennifer D. Maier (Greg), his son George Victor Dunn (Christin), and his grandson, Davis Victor Dunn. Also, his brother Edward Kent Dunn, jr.(Faye), his sister Joann Bynum. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Kent Dunn, his brother-in-law Merrill Bynum and his nephew Michael Wayne Bynum. The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Yoffe for his outstanding care for Wayne and his caregivers, Mariam, Sheryl, and Pam.
