To family of Amy,
I knew Amy growing up in Durham at Carr Junior High and Durham High School, as well as at Carolina our freshman year in Spencer. I saw her in Paris where she was working after college. She was always a sparkle.
But what I treasure is the handwritten cook book she gave Bruce and I when we got married in 1975...Carr's Cuisine. It is the most thoughtful gift and we treasure it.
My heart is heavy learning today in the Carolina Review that she is gone.
May her family find peace in the memories. Love, Lee Southerland Berlow

Ms Amy I miss seeing you walk Oreo around the block. I loved hearing you holler "hush Oreo hush" We may not have spoken everyday but you were a piece of my normal. I´m not sure who Oreo went to live with but the neighborhood will sure miss him too. God bless you Ms Amy. Your neighborhood friend.

Amy was a one of a kind friend.
She was smart, attractive, hard working, giving, dedicated to family aknd friends but BEST of ALL, she was FUNNY AS HELL!
AND, her Father dated my second Mother in Law, who was from Chicago and I think in the first class of female students at UNC! Is that possible?
And I am NOT from NC but from Florida! Imagine that! Amy actually welcomed me to St. Marys, even though I was a Florida Cracker and had really short skirts and didn´t have any gloves or hats for Chapel at St. Mary´s! She and my other new friends
took me shopping at the local mall, where I subsequently spent a lot of my parents money, and got me outfitted!
Here´s to toast and cheers for a wonderful person and dear, dear friend!

Amy was one of the first paralegals in NC and worked with my Father, Hap Tucker, at Hunton & Williams many, many years ago. He always thought the world of Amy and I always thought she helped make my 40+ years as a paralegal possible. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
