Andrew Cassone, Jr.

Mr. Andrew Cassone, Jr., 69, of Clayton died Thursday, October 22, 2015 at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh. He was born October 22, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY son of the late Andrew Cassone, Sr. and Gloria Brown Cassone. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Cassone and Edward Cassone.

Mr. Cassone served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War where he received the Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Ann Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Joann Cassone, one daughter, Felicia Perez and husband Peter, one son, Phillip Oddo, three beloved grandchildren who were the light of his life, Adeline, Phillip, and Jolene, four brothers, Steve Cassone and wife Patty, John Cassone and wife Jamie, Alphonse "Ally" Cassone and wife Jennie, and Anthony Cassone and partner Caesar, two sisters, Peggy Cassone and Joyce Trosclaire and husband Camille, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and two lifelong friends, Edward Sage and Russell Iadanzia.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 26 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project at www.wounded warriorproject.org or by calling at 877-958-2233.

I am very sorry for the Cassone family loss. Andrew was one of a kind with a very kind heart and a hilarious sense of humor. I still miss him daily even after all of these years.I have many memories that continue to make me smile. He was a very special person and will always remain in my heart. Andrew was very fortunate to have found you. You enriched his life and went above and beyond in your care for him.
It has been a 50 year friendship that I have greatly valued. I have many memories and experiences with Andrew that I will always treasure. Any one whose life he touched has only the nicest things to say about him.
