John Cassone Obituary

John A. Cassone, of Greenwich, passed away Monday, September 23 at the age of 87. He was born on September 19, 1937, in Villa San Giovonni Calabria, Italy to Frank and Mary Cassone; John immigrated to the United States with his family in 1950. He worked for many years at Arnold's Bakery. He loved to spend time in his garden, growing tomatoes that were always shared with the neighbors. He tended to his flowers, shrub sculpting and grass with meticulous care. He loved when he had a home project to work on and was delighted to help his family with theirs as well. Above all he loved to spend time with his family and was always up for an adventure whatever it might be including hopping on a boat, motorcycle, or kayak, traveling, a nice dinner or to see a show. His stories about growing up in Italy were endless and always so entertaining. He passed on his wisdom and love with so much ease to everyone who was blessed to know him.

John saw the good in everyone and treated all he met with respect and friendship. His love for life, family and friends will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Anne; his loving children Frank Cassone, Helen Wiberg husband Randy; and his 6 cherished grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear sisters Jennie, Frances, and Esther, as well as many nieces and nephews.

To honor his life, family and friends will gather Sunday from 2pm – 6pm at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave. Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Monday at St. Paul's Church, Greenwich. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Rye Brook.
