Andrew Hale Obituary

Andrew Hale
October 26, 1989 - January 26, 2022
Washington, DC - Andrew Elam Hale of Washington, DC left this earth on January 26th, 2022.
Andrew is survived by parents Matt and Teresa Hale of Youngsville, sisters Katherine Hale of Chicago and Charlotte Deal of Raleigh, brother-in-law Joel Deal, niece Piper Deal; aunts Dana King, Susan Hale, Pam Brewer, Lindy Faison, Marilee Strauss; uncles Jeff Hale, Ben Hale, Bill Faison; and many cousins and friends.
Andrew was born on October 26th, 1989, in Raleigh, NC to parents Matt and Teresa Hale. He grew up in Wake Forest alongside sisters Katherine and Charlotte.
After graduating Wake Forest-Rolesville High School, Andrew joined the Army for a 6.5-year service in the 82nd Airborne, 2nd Brigade Combat Battalion, 1/73 calvary. This stint included a 9-month deployment to Iraq. During his time in the Army, Andrew took advantage of the GI Bill and completed his bachelor's degree in Intelligent Studies from American Military University. Once out of the Army, Andrew enrolled in law school at Chicago-Kent College of Law. His law degree and impressive resume qualified him for the highly prestigious and selective Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) program which placed him in a career within the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, DC.
To know Andrew is to love Andrew. He was intelligent, witty, and kind. Never one for trivial pursuits, Andrew enjoyed long hours of reading or deep conversation. He would often leave the house with dollar bills in his pocket just in case he ran into someone in need. He loved others more than he loved himself.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 20th, 2022, at 2pm at the Wake Forest Renaissance Center. Masks Required.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, his family encourages donations made in his honor to organizations that benefit those less fortunate.

I´m sadden by this news. Andrew was in my 1st grade class. I was TA with Mrs. Summerlin. I did not have the pleasure to know him as an adult but he was such a wonderful child. So full of kindness and questions. Anytime I needed help with something I could count on Andrew to be there. Continued prayers for you all.
