Bobby Crews Obituary
Daddy was a kind, loving, and creative man. He loved his "girls" and would do anything for them. During our years in Scottsdale, AZ, Dad finished his degree from Arizona State University. I loved going with him to the bookstore each semester to get his new materials. We spent many weekends and vacations camping at the Grand Canyon and exploring the beautiful parks in California. Dad wanted us to see all of the natural beauty of the west.
After moving to Durham in 1978, camping and traveling took a back seat to working, visiting family, and watching his girls growing up. His love of traveling would be renewed after his retirement from Honeywell (Sperry Flight Systems) in 1992. Dad and Mom spent the next 30 years camping all over the United States and Canada, visiting Hawaii as well. They both loved this time together and seeing the beautiful countryside.
Dad and Mom celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on October 24, 2025. She will miss his beautiful blue eyes, quick wit, big hugs, and gentle spirit. I will miss his constant support and the way he always said, "I love you, babe".
Our hearts are broken but we are so thankful for all the years together and the memories we will always cherish. We love you! Mom and Cheryl.

The closeness you´ve had even through adulthood is evidence of what a great dad (and husband to your mom) he must have been. Thanks for writing this and giving us a glimpse of him. You carry on his legacy of kindness well!

Cheryl said it all! He was a kind , gentle soul. We all piled in his VW bug when they lived in Florida and he took us sightseeing! Another time in Warren County we all piled in the VW and visited an aunt not too far from home. When we came back home, my aunt and her 3 boys joined us. There were at least 11 of us packed in like sardines! He loved my mom´s cooking and the family gatherings. He will be missed.
