Raleigh, North Carolina - Carolyn McCue Matthews passed away peacefully in her home in Raleigh, NC on January 2, 2024, she was 89. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Dick, her children, Scott, Ann and Craig; their spouses, Anne Marie, Chach and Curt and grandchildren, William, Andrew and Katie.
Carolyn was best known for her sense of adventure, fierce determination, and generous & kind spirit. Carolyn's family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others. Carolyn's presence, laughter and love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Oh this news makes me sad...Carolyn's wit and kindness left an impression on this awkward high school kid during my visits with Ann. Dick, I remember your smile and twinkling eyes...please smile when thinking of your sweet wife.

Dear Mrs. Matthews was a shining light to my children's kindergarten experiences at St Timothy's School so long ago. God Bless this sweet family. I'm so blessed to have had a last earthly visit with Ms Matthews this Past December. We had a sweet St. Timothy's memory filled , brief chat.
