Charles really helped me find my way through some tough times. I'll always remember his kindness and sly sense of humor. I hope his family and friends find some comfort, but this is just so tragic.

I worked with Charles at FMH and his Dad worked with my Dad on the tobacco market many years ago. It touched me so deeply when Charles' dad came to the funeral of my father. I had the upmost respect for Charles and he could really make me laugh. I have not seen him in many years because of job changes but I am truly sad to hear of his passing. I know all who knew him will miss him so much. He was a good man.

We have known and loved Charles and Max for many years since living in Winston-Salem. Their friendship is dear to us, and we have enjoyed many fun times together (even a Canadian trip several years ago!). Charles will be truly missed. Please know that our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

My deepest sympathies to family and friends. I went through 12 years of school with Charles and even though I have not seen him in years, I remember him fondly as a brilliant, kind and gentle soul. To his mother, Velma, I fondly remember you as a loving mother who was always so kind to Charles' classmates throughout the years. May time help to heal your hearts from this great loss.

To the Faison Family: I have known Charles for a long time. He would always help us understand the medications we needed to give to our patients. All of us at Novant have lost a great friend. May God keep His loving arms around you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Charles combined exceptional charm with a generous and kind disposition. His playful spirit, dry humor and sharp wit only added to his charm. Charles was a pharmacist of remarkable ability, possessing a keen intelligence and unfailing willingness to share his knowledge and experience. I will treasure many fond memories of my “Mr Charles” My thoughts and prayers are with Charles’ family in this time of sorrow. He will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Charles befriended me as a pharmacy student in 1982 and was one of my most beloved mentors, friend and coworker at FMC. He gave me a star ruby when I left FMC to move to Georgia and I will never forget his kind words of appreciation of our friendship and what it meant to him as he gave me the beautiful gemstone. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
