Charles Reed Obituary

Charles Cleveland Reed Jr.
March 24, 1926 - February 3, 2022
Raleigh, North Carolina - World War II Veteran, Husband, Father, Visionary Architect. He explored the big questions... how is a universe made Have we been visited by explorers from other worlds What elements must be utilized to create the perfect space in which to live in symbiosis with nature And... What does it take to design a perfect sandwich When I was five we explored the reefs of south Florida. Dad was my "nature teacher". He said the trees talk to each other. The morning Mom (Elaine Reed) died, Dad said, "It would be a betrayal of life not to continue to have a sense of wonder." They were married 70 years. On his last day, Chuck had his favorite sandwich at Carolina Cafe. As we drove home, he said "I'm grateful for a perfect sandwich." That evening we watched the movie "Moon over Miami." His daughters Melissa and Mia, Grandsons Daniel and Alex, Great Grandson Graye, and son-in-law Richard live on. Visit "Legacy Chuck and Elaine" at Life Art Story Gallery 3546 Wade Ave next to Whole Foods.
