Clay Couch Obituary

Mr. Clay C. Couch, 60, entered into rest at University Hospital on September 8, 2008.
Clay was formerly employed as an Electrical Engineer at Savannah River Site. He graduated from NC State University. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta. Clay loved doing volunteer work at the church. He also enjoyed tutoring math and playing tennis and basketball.
Survivors include his mother, Jean Couch of Rocky Mount; one daughter, Meredith Jean Couch of Augusta, GA; one son, Jonathan David Couch of Rock Hill, SC; one sister, Karen Couchof Hendersonville; two grandchildren, Corly and Cecily Jackson, Mary Glenn Couch of North Augusta, SC; three special friends, Barbara Wise, Bob Brewton, and Alan Totten.
Clay was predeceased by his father, L.C. Couch, Jr. and a brother, James Wesley Couch.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta, GA, 3501 Walton Way Ext., Augusta, GA 30909.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount. Following the service, friends are welcome to visit at Clay's mother's home in Rocky Mount.

clay we would not have gone down in six hearts redoubled if you had not assumed that i knew what i was doing, but then you always were a maverick. nobody can capture you in words (or formulas), but in my mind you will always be 17, impetuous and imperturbed.... to the n-th degree and the limit superior. thank you for your light. safe journey dear friend.
