Daisy Woodburn Obituary

Daisy Matthews Woodburn, longtime resident of Littleton, died in her home April 4, 2005. She was born in Hubert NC, Nov. 4, 1920 to the late Loney E. and Rena Winberry Matthews.
She was the widow of Clark H. Woodburn, M.D., whom she married in 1941.
She received her R.N. degree in 1940, having trained at Rex Hospital inRaleigh.
Daisy was an avid gardener, whose lovely cut flowers were enjoyed by many friends and neighbors, and an enthusiastic bridge player.
Graveside services were held April 6, in Sunset Hill Cemetery, presided over by the Reverend DavidHaley.
She is survived by two daughters, Loretta Woodburn of Littleton and Judy Woodburn of Durham. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Matthews Richardson of Rochester NY; her brother, Leroy Matthews of Hubert; one niece; three nephews.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Littleton Methodist Church, Box 26, Littleton NC 27850 or to the Warren County Rescue Squad, Box 448, Littleton NC 27850.
