Dallas Norris Obituary

Dallas Hughes Norris , 76, died Sunday evening at Durham Regional Hospital.
He was born in Person County to the late Charlie and Artelia Brown Norris.
An active member of First Baptist Church, Mr. Norris served as chairman of the Deacons as well as Sunday school director and teacher. He generously volunteered his time as chairmanof many other committee's throughout the years.
Mr. Norris served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 in Germany and was employed by Kenan Oil Co., and Tops Petroleum Corp. for more than 50 Years.
Mr. Norris is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Altaree Estes Norris of Durham; two daughters, Rebecca N. Keith and husband, Dennis of Beavercreek, OH; Susan Norris Grider and husband, Bill of Timberlake, NC; four brothers, Hubert Norris of Thomasville, NC, Rainey Norris and David Norris, both of Hurdle Mills, NC, Hassell Norris of McLeansville, NC; one sister, Lottie N. Walsh of Roxboro, NC; three grandchildren, Allison and Erin Keith, Cole Grider and one step-grandson, Brandon Grider.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Arthur and Herman Norris and his sister, Annie Lou N. Parker, all of Hurdle Mills.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, with the Reverend Dr. Gerald Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Hall-Wynne Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina, P.O. Box 338, Thomasville, NC 27361.
