David Michael McGowan, 45, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2014, after a long illness. He was predeceased by his mother, Evelyn M. McGowan. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Maria McGowan, his father, James J. McGowan and wife, Madeline M. McGowan, of Raleigh, brothers James L. McGowan, wife Peggy Sims McGowan of Jackson, NJ, Kevin P. McGowan of Cary, step-brothers Stephen J. Balcome, wife Deborah, of Charlotte, Thomas P. Balcome, wife Jo Anna, of Raleigh, several nephews and nieces plus a multitude of friends. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 20th, 2014, 1:00 PM at Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh. Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice of Port Saint Lucie, 1201 SE Indian St., Stuart, FL 34997, or, Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, NY, NY 10018.
