Raleigh, North Carolina - It is with sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of David Wayne Rawls, age 60, at his home in Raleigh.
David was born on June 3, 1965, in Edenton, North Carolina. His family later moved to Raleigh, where he graduated from W.G. Enloe High School. He attended Wake Technical Community College and built a career as an engineering draft designer, including more than 20 years of service with Bühler.
Known by a few different names-David, Dave, and "Tate"-he was truly known to all as a kind, generous, and good-natured man who loved to laugh. David deeply loved his family and was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend. He will be remembered for his bright smile, warm heart, and wonderful sense of humor.
David is survived by his mother, Betty Perry Rawls; nephew, William Alexander Costen; as well as a circle of cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reginald Wayne Rawls; sister, Teri Lynn Rawls.
