Denise Scramlin Obituary
December 28, 1967 - May 31, 2024
Greenville, North Carolina - Denise Ann (Brown) Scramlin, 56, of Greenville, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 31st, 2024, after an extended battle with cancer. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate Denise's life on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Chapel, 2100 E 5th St, Greenville, NC 27858. Service will be at 2:00 PM, followed by internment at Pinewood Memorial Park. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home. For more info call (252) 752-2101. A native of Marrero, LA, Denise grew up with an insatiable appetite for boiled seafood. She never knew a stranger and was often the socialite at work or parties. Denise retired from the HR department at UNC Health after more than 20 years of employment. She loved traveling and motorcycle rides with her husband, cherished and adored her grandchildren, ("Sweet Pea" and "Sugar"), and enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. Preceded in death by her Mother: Janice Richoux Brown Rovetto, Step-Father: Dominic "Mickey" Rovetto, Father: Rodney A. Brown, Grandparents: Harding and Doris Richoux and Walton and Emelda Brown, also her beloved dog, Brandi. Survived by her husband Jeff Scramlin; daughters, Tiffany (Matt) Miller of Fuquay Varina, NC and Kristen (Steve) Sankowski of Greenville, NC; grandchildren, Fiona Sankowski and Rowan Miller; brothers, Dominic (Debbie) Rovetto of Newmarket, NH and David (Cindy) Rovetto of Chapel Hill, NC; niece of Alan (Lynn) Richoux of Luling, LA and Ranell Richoux of Loranger, LA; first-cousins, Cherelle (Kevin) Lee of Loranger, LA and Dena (Donnie) Miller of Hahnville, LA; parents-in-law, Jim and Tressa Scramlin of Maryville, TN; brother-in-law, Ken (Kathy) Scramlin of Maryville, TN; and several nieces and nephews. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Denise's honor be directed to the Hospice Program of 3HC, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534. https://www.3hc.org/donate-now/.
