Funeral service, Tuesday, March 25, 2008, 1:00 p.m. Poplar Springs Christian Church. Burial, Carolina Biblical Gardens, Garner. Visitation, Tuesday, 12:30-1:00 p.m. at the Church.
Survivors include Wife, Patricia Brown Cooley of the home; daughter, Ceji Danielle Brown of the home; son, Calvin Antonio Brown of the home; grandson, Shameer M. Martin of the home; brothers, Rev. Eric L. Cooley (Ava) of Atlanta, GA and Andrew Coleman of Gulfport, MS; and a host of other relatives and friends.

I am truly sorry to hear about the passing of my classmate and friend, Derrick. He was a beloved member of the Heidelberg High School Class of '91 in Heidelberg, MS. My condolences go out to Derrick's entire family. "God Bless You" during this difficult time.

I was sadden to hear of Derrick's passing and he was a very nice gentleman that I met working for
the Retirement systems. He was always smiling and having a good time I will miss his visits and my prayers are with your entire family

I am saddened to hear that the Cooley family has lost a love one. Derrick was special to all of us. Derrick, Garrick, Tracy, and myself shared memorable moments as young men growing up in Mississippi. We shared a Brotherhood. I will miss him dearly.

To Pat and Family,
We on 5B Neurosciences want to also share our prayers of comfort with you and your family. Derrick was truly a loving father. We cannot count the numerous times he would wait patiently for the MD's to get on the "same page" with Toni's care. He was also more than patient with our unit when it would take more time than anticipated to get his questions answered.

To Patricia and the rest of Derrick's family, I know the pain that you feel because I too feel the pain of losing someone who is as special as Derrick, he was a very loving and caring young man. I have grown to love him as a younger brother. Please take comfort in knowing that Derrick is with God and in a far better place. I will keep you and the rest of your family in my prayers.
