Apex, North Carolina - Dollie Mae Smith Knowles, 91, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Raleigh. Burial will follow in Historic Oakwood Cemetery, Raleigh.
Dollie was born in Sampson County on April 22, 1930 to the late Leroy and Eva Register Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor King; and brother, Wilbert Smith.
Dollie is survived by her husband of 67 years, J.C. Knowles; daughters, Janet Harrell and husband, Tim, Sarah Welsh and husband, Greg; grandsons, Parker Harrell, Scott Welsh, Taylor Welsh and wife, Caitlin; and her sister, Gladys Pegram.
