Edward Freedman Obituary

Dr. Freedman was the son of the late Lillian and Joseph Freedman, and grew up in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. He graduated from Roxborough High School, attended the University of Pennsylvania, andgraduated from Temple University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Freedman was a family physician who practiced in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, for more than 40 years.
Dr. Freedman was a founding member of Temple Israel ofUpper Darby, and twice served as its president.
Dr. Freedman was preceded in death by his parents; all of his siblings,Isadore, Samuel, Herman, Solomon, Harry, and Dr. Fanny Freedman; and by his wife of 50 years, Frances Metter Freedman.
He is survived by his wife Elaine Z. Rosen Freedman, and her children and grandchildren; by his sons and their wives, S. Mitchell Freedman and Barbara Cohen Freedman of Raleigh, and Carl Freedman and Beverly Ehrich of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; and by five wonderful grandsons, Michael, David, Jesse, Adam, and Ben. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Ida and Louis Goldberg of Toronto, Canada, and by many nieces and nephews in the United States and Canada.
Funeral service will be held in Philadelphia on Wednesday, January 25, 2006.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Eastern NC Chapter of the Alzheimer's Disease Association, 400 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, NC, 27605, or a charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated.
