Edward Markarian Obituary

Mr. Edward Markarian, age 73, a resident of 204 East 11th Street, Washington, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Beaufort County Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home of Washington with Pastor Phil Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemeterywith Masonic burial rites.
Members of Washington Lodge 675 and Orr Lodge 104 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Markarian was born April 24, 1931 the son of the late Napoleon G. and Rose Hagopian Markarian. He was educated in the Massachusetts Public School and was a graduate of Worcester Poly Tech. Mr. Markarian served his country inthe United States Army in Korea. He worked as a mechanical engineer for Allied Chemical, Proctor and Gamble, Flanders Filtersand Texas Gulf Phosphate. He retired in 1993 and returned to work in the pharmacy at Wal-Mart. In 1958, he married the former Ramona Perry who preceded him in death on January 21, 2004. Mr. Markarian was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Washington. He was a member of Lafayette Lodge No. 14 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Wilmington, DE.
Surviving Mr. Markarian is a daughter, Mona Renee Markarian Mills of Hampton, VA; a son, Edward Perry Markarian and wife, Dawn of Cary, NC; a grandson, Steven Markarian Mills of Hampton, VA; and a sister, Irene Bedrosian of Warwick, RI.
A brother, Gilbert Markarian and a sister, Grace Mullen preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends at Paul Funeral Home of Washington on Tuesday, March 22, 2005 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.
Service to the Markarian family is entrusted to Paul Funeral Home of Washington.
