Florence Mohler Obituary

Florence Tolley Mohler, 93, wife of the late Robert Larkin Mohler, died Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Rex Hospital.
She was born in Lexington, VA, one of 12 children of the late Roscoe Conkln Tolley and Susan Nettie Fix Tolley. She resided at Woodland Terrace Retirement Center for the past four years, prior to that she lived in Washington, NC and Hillsborough, NC.
She belonged to many community organizations and took part in numerous activities; one was participating in Senior Games until she was 90. She enjoyed painting and other crafts. She was active in her Sunday School Class and other groups at Washington United Methodist Church. She has been a member of Highland United Methodist Church since moving to the retirement center.
She is survived by daughter, Mary Liner and husband, Hugh of Raleigh, and daughter, Helen Strayhorn and husband, Robert of Chapel Hill; and granddaughters, Joyce Liner Tynes of Raleigh, Susan Strayhorn Barbour and husband, Fred of Asheville, and JoAnn Liner Cullingford and husband, Robert of Raleigh; and great-grandchildren, Brian and Jason Barbour, Matt and Hailey Tynes and Matt Cullingford; and brother, Joe Tolley; and sisters, Virginia Moschler and Ruby Cauley.
Her brothers, James, Robert, Clyde, Clarence, Fred, Leonard, and Harry, and sister, Susie also preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 4, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 4701 NC Highway 86, Chapel Hill, NC. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service and at other times at the homes of Mary Liner and Helen Strayhorn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cemetery Fund of New Hope Presbyterian Church, 4701 NC Highway 86, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 or Highland United Methodist Church, 1901 Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC 27607.
