Dear Peggy;

I was saddened to hear the news about the death of your husband, Forrest.

My thoughts are with you and your loved ones during this difficult time of loss.

I enjoyed getting know your husband, Forrest, it was during these times we would worship together in the Young Men’s Bible Class and when he would help at the Methodist Men’s events that we grew in friendship. He was always cheerful and had a kind word to say. I remember one time when I met him in the hallway at FUMC and we would talk about our military service since he had just completed submitting his information to be included in FUMC’s Salute to Veterans book. He told me about his flying days and some of the things that he learned about weather formations. What a learning experience I had during that talk.

I know that your great strength, family and friends will help you at this time of loss. Please remember that while we are mourning the loss of our friend, others are rejoicing to meet him with our Heavenly Father. Forrest is now looking down from above on all of us with pride. Your husband was truly a delightful and caring man and I am greatful that I was able to know him. Blessings.

My sympathy goes out to you and your family on your loss. I worked several years with Forrest in the Tower and enjoyed working with him. Would have liked spending time in the lodge with him but moved to Myrtle Beach before his time.
