Frances Dominguez Obituary
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 3, 1933, Fran was the beloved daughter of Frank and Amelia Molea.
On April 13, 1952, she married the love of her life, Alfred Dominguez. Together they built a beautiful life and a family she cherished deeply.
Fran enjoyed a long and successful career in the technology field, serving as a Manager, Systems Analyst, and Computer Programmer, and ultimately retiring from The Cooper Group in Apex, NC, in 1998. In 1978, she and Al moved to North Carolina for her work with The Cooper Group and, alongside several families, became founding members of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Apex.
After retirement, Fran gave generously of her time, first volunteering at WakeMed in Cary and later at many local organizations in Wilmington. She was known for her warm smile, love of people, and dedication to service. Fran also loved playing bridge, shopping, and curling up with a good book and a nice glass of wine. She held St. Jude Children's Research Hospital close to her heart as her favorite charity.
Fran's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her half-brother, John David Molea; her son, Alfred Dominguez (Julie); daughters Bobbe Herman, April Riley (Stephen), and Amelia Smith; grandchildren Eddie and Alfred Adams, Joshua Herman, Jessica Clark, Stephanie Doherty, Nat Riley, Frances Holgersen, Charlotte Dominguez, and Isabella Smith; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Dominguez.
A celebration of Fran's life will be held on Monday, September 15, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Apex, followed by interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Raleigh, NC.
