Frank Perry Obituary

Frank Gilliam Perry
Sanford
Frank Gilliam Perry, 85, died peacefully at his home on April 7, 2012. He was born September 16, 1926 the second son of the late Hugh Ross Perry and Elizabeth Cook Perry. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nannette Chaplin Perry, his brother, Hugh Peoples Perry and his sister, Elizabeth Perry Holton.
Frank was a life long resident of Sanford, North Carolina. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1944-1946. After returning home, he attended Campbell University (then Campbell College). After leaving college, he went to work in the family business, Perry Brothers Tire Service in Sanford. Later, he followed his father to Lee Brick and Tile Co., another family business, where his management helped the company make a presence throughout the eastern and central United States. When he wasn't making brick, he was thinking brick.
He is survived by his wife Barbara, sons Frank Gilliam Perry, Jr. and wife Dwan, Charles Ross Perry and wife Vicki, Hal Chaplin Perry and wife Kelly, Don William Perry and wife Darlene, Scott Thomas Perry and wife Tracy, and one daughter, Kay Perry Carver and husband Gordon; nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, his brother, Paul Perry and wife, Margaret, his brother-in- law, J. Frank was an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church (formerly Steele Street) from early childhood. He was a member of the Sanford Rotary Club and the Sanford Elks Club where he always enjoyed meeting with friends after work to catch up on the latest news.
There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012 in the Christian Life Center at St. Luke United Methodist Church. A celebration of Frank's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April10, 2012 at the church. The burial will follow at Buffalo Presbyterian Church cemetery.
Our family thanks the doctors and nurses at Moore Regional Hospital, the administration and staff at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation, Community Hospice and Parkview In-Home Aid, and especially Kenny Blackmon who has been a godsend to Frank for the last several years.
