Fretwell Floyd Obituary

Fretwell John Floyd, 82, died Wednesday at Two Rivers Nursing Home in New Bern.
Fred retired as a Chief Petty Officer following 20 years service in the U.S. Navy. He served during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He also served 21 years in the Civil Service. He was past president of the New Bern Shrine Club, was a 32nd Degree Mason and past president of the Havelock Lions Club.
A funeral service will be 5:00 Friday afternoon at Trinity Presbyterian Churchwith Rev. William Alex Moses officiating.
The family will be receiving friends in the church from 3:30 p.m until the time for the service to begin. Parking will be provided in the rear of the church.
The interment with military honors willbe held Saturday at noon in the Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, NC.
Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years; two daughters, Freddie Mohler and her husband, Ray of Cary, NC, and Janet Gregory and her husband, John of Germantown,TN; grandchildren, Janet Eason and her husband, Brian of Raleigh, Kelly Nelson and her husband Tom of Raleigh, Kim Ball and her husband, Dr. Patrick Ball of Batesville, MS; great-grandchildren, Emily Danielle Eason, Alex Ray Eason, Jake Thomas Nelson, Gavin Joel Nelson and Caden Andrew Ball.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Fretwell J. Floyd to the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 206, Miller Blvd. Havelock, NC 28532.
