Our beautiful daughter, Gabrielle Dawn Sweder, 25, passed away on January 30th, 2016 at her home, in Wake Forest, NC. She was born on May 18th, 1990 at Martin Army Hospital, Fort Benning, GA to James Sweder and Dawn (Pursell) Sweder. Gabby graduated from Hammonton High School in Hammonton, NJ in 2009. She enjoyed writing, listening to music, helping friends in need and most of all, her kitty, Opi. She struggled with drug addiction and mental illness, but was working hard to try to overcome these horrible diseases. Her Grandparents, Raymond Sweder and Mary Margaret "Peggy" (Simon) Sweder greeted Gabrielle in Heaven. She is survived by her parents; her sister, BreAnna Sweder of Southern New Jersey; her grandparents, James and Shirley (Whitman) Pursell; her aunts and uncles and many cousins and friends. A visitation service will be held on Tuesday, February 9th, 2016 between the hours of 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm at Bright Funeral Home, 405 South Main Street, Wake Forest, NC 27587, followed by a brief memorial service in the adjoining chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Mental Health Resources at www.mhresources.org and Healing Transitions at www.healing-transitions.org.

I did not know Gabrielle but my son Anthony did. I lost my beautiful son on February 5th. I know he and Gabrielle spoke often and I hope the two of them are in peace and chatting up a storm and laughing - God Bless

What a beautiful soul, strong woman, and incredible friend. So many laughs, cries, good times and memories. I love you Gabby and will send love, light, prayers, and positivity up to you in the heavens and down to your family here on earth. Rest Easy, beautiful. You'll always be in my heart and mind and a reminder of how powerful these afflictions are.
