Grace Woodlief Dean, 84, passed away on Thursday March 2, 2017 at Hillside Nursing Center. She was born in Wake County the daughter of the late Dorothy Dixon Woodlief and Zollie G. Woodlief.
Grace was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and had served as the church Treasury. She had worked for Walker Martin INC. in Raleigh and for the Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest.
A funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon March 5, 2017 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter; Diane Dean Willis and husband Randy of Raleigh, grandchildren; Justin Willis and Caitlyn Willis both of Raleigh, nieces; Theresa Woodlief, Gwen Woodlief Bailey and husband Everett, great nephews; Ray Bailey and wife Cathy Jo, Ryan Woodlief, Zollie Woodlief and wife Anna, great niece; Mary Beth Neville and husband Brandon, great great nephew; Jack Bailey and a great great niece; Molly Kate Neville.

I just found an Oak Grove Baptist Church welcome booklet from when I visited May 27, 2007 with my grandparents and it mentioned a supper to honor Grace's retirement from treasurer so I sadly looked her up and found this. I had the great pleasure of meeting Grace at the church and once at her home when I would fly from Texas to visit my grandparents Lucille and Thomas Hicks. I loved seeing Grace's big smile and talking with her. I met her precious dog Katie at her home one day and will never forget what a joyful woman she was. I haven't been able to visit as often since my grandparents passed but the memories I have of Grace and all the other wonderful people at Oak Grove will always remain. I know she's watching us from Heaven with her beautiful smile.
