Henry Matthews Obituary

Mr. Henry Lee Matthews, Jr., 48, of 2387 Wilmington Hwy., died at his home Saturday May 23, 2009. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Wells Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in 1961 in New Hanover County, Mr. Matthews was the son of the late Henry Lee Matthews, Sr. He was a member of Wells Chapel Baptist Church and an accountant with the Sampson County Board of Education. He is survived by a son, Henry Lee Matthews, III of the home; mother, Mildred R. Matthews of Willard; sister, Loretta M. Powell of Willard. The family will receive friends at Royal-Hall Funeral Home Sunday night from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and other times at his home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wells Chapel Baptist Church, 2070 Wallace Hwy., Wallace, NC 28466. Condolences may be sent through www.royalhallfuneralhome.com Services are entrusted with Royal-Hall Funeral Home in Clinton.
