Charlotte

Mrs. Cobb 96 of Charlotte, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Asbury Care Center. She was the daughter of the late William Gholdson Cousins and Helen (Bunch) Cousins. Born in Wake Co. in 1919, her family soon moved to Johnston Co. She graduated high school in 1936 and was accepted at Parkview Hospital School of Nursing in Rocky Mount. She graudated in 1940. While attending nursing school, Hilda met and married P.G. Cobb, Jr., son of P.G. Cobb, Sr. and Annie Hooker Cobb, in 1941. Mrs. Cobb worked in nursing approximately 15 yrs working mostly at Mercy-Charlotte and Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro,. The Cobbs lived in Rocky Mount, Raleigh, Greensboro and in Charlotte for the past 68 years.

Mrs. Cobb is survived by her husband P.G. Cobb, Jr; sons Leroy Cobb (Karen) Lynchburg, VA., Kenneth Cobb (Kathy) Oriental, NC and Carl G. Cobb (Paula) of Cedar Point, NC.; brother Burrell Cousins of Wake Co, NC.; 6 grandchildren Matt, Caty, Morgan, Mary Kate, Shelby and Aiden Marie. Also surviving are her 3 great grandchidlren Grace, Maggie and Truman. All are precious to her. She had a full life and enjoyed all of you.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 25th at 2 PM in the Chapel of Asbury Care Center, 3100 Shamrock Dr, Chlt. Online condolences may be addressed to www.carolinafuneral.com. Carolina Funeral Service & Cremation Center is entrusted with the arrangements.
