Ida Monroe Obituary

Mrs. Ida Mae Monroe, 81, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2002. Mrs. Monroe was born in Johnston County on February 24, 1920. She was a veteran of WWII and served in the US Navy as a registered nurse. After discharge she was director of nursing at Maccabee Gardens Nursing Home. Mrs. Monroe retired from nursing but continued working at the Bryan Center in Clayton. Her love in life was nursing and taking care of others.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Kingsbury of Freeland, Mich., Patricia Wallace of Riverside, CA, Jacquelyn Monroe of Cary, NC; sister, Mildred Dohler of Baltimore, MD; brother, Leon Parker of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Brandy Wallace, Jason and Chad Kingsbury.
Funeral servicewill be held at Montlawn Funeral Home chapel Friday, February 15, 2002 at 2 p.m. Entombment will follow at Montlawn's Chapel of Memories.
