I knew Jack when I practiced in Raleigh up until 1992.During the time that I knew him, he earned my respect as an attorney that practiced with the professionalism that I always expected from the profession when I chose to pursue my career. I met him in the late 1990's and his impression remains with me. He was a wonderful attorney and human being. I know that God has received a wonderful human being that we will all miss.
May God bless you and confort you in this time.

I worked for Jack at Gulley, Kuhn & Taylor before he retired, and continued to do work for him for a few years afterward. I only learned today that Jack had passed away. I am so sorry for your loss, and for not contacting him recently. I have thought fondly of him on so many ocassions; Your father was one of the finest people I've ever known. He will not be forgotten.

Margaret, I am one of the lawyers at Smith Debnam. We so loved your dad, and truly enjoyed the time that he practiced with us. Today at lunch, several of us were talking about Jack and how smart he was. He really could discuss any topic, and always had some tidbit of knowledge that impressed us. Please know our thoughts are with you and your family. Sincerely, Bettie Sousa

Oh Margaret, I am so thankful that he didn't suffer very long and is with your sweet mom. I will miss them both very much and always remember them. They were like my second parents letting me move in with yall when my parents moved before our senior year. And you are the sister I never had. I am so thankful I was able to spend time with your dad last month when he felt fine and didn't know anything was wrong. You are truly blessed to have such sweet, kind and loving parents who adore you even still and watch over you always. I will miss him. What a wonderful, giving and gentle man.
Love, Stacy

Margaret,
How hard it is for us to give up someone we love. Psalms 116:15 - Prescious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

Rejoice in knowing your Dad knew Jesus as his Savior. Imagine the celebration that is taking place in heaven today. Your dad's work was complete here on earth and God is so happy when he can call one of his children to come home where there will be no more sickness or death. My prayer for you and your family is that God would comfort you as only He can.

Margaret,
I was so sorry to hear of your dads diagnosis and had intentions of sending him a card , I only found out he was sick on Monday. He was such a good man. He certainly did his best to keep me out of trouble in the 80's and never treated me any different because of it. He was one of the nicest men at the club, always had a handshake a kind word and a smile. That is the way I will remember him, with a smile on his face. I am truly sorry for it is not only a loss for you and your family but for anyone that knew him. He was a great man. I also know that words cannot take away the pain and remorse but try to find some peace in the fact that his illness was relatively short and that his suffering was not drawn out and his time in pain was short. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Sincerely,

George Willoughby
