James Frink Obituary

Colonel James Clinton Frink of Springmoor Retirement Community, Raleigh, died peacefully Thursday, July 2, 2009. His enthusiasm and caring for his friends and family will be missed. He was born in Bladenboro, N.C. on December 7, 1914 to Grover and Hannah Frink. J.C. graduated from North Carolina State University in 1938. While there, he served as president of his senior class, as well as president of the student body. Throughout his career he served in the Army, Air Force, private business, and as a diplomat in the Foreign Agricultural Service. His varied career took him around the U.S. as well as to countries throughout the world. After living in several states and countries including Japan, Germany, Belgium, and Greece, J.C. and his wife Lakie returned to Raleigh in 1988. J.C. is survived by his daughter, Jane Allen and husband, Dennis Allen; son, Stephen Frink; grandchildren, Grey and wife, Erin Allen, Clint Allen, and Ashley Frink; his sister, Grace Rabatin; sister-in-law, Martha Frink; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to Hospice of Wake County and the Springmoor community for their kind and loving assistance. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m., in the auditorium at Springmoor Retirement Community, 1500 Sawmill Rd., Raleigh, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 Saint Mary’s Street, Suite 400, Raleigh, NC, 27605, the Springmoor Endowment Fund, 1500 Sawmill Rd, Raleigh, NC 27615, or a charity of your choice.

My mother and father also lived at Springmoor. After my dad passed Mr. Frink was always telling me to let him know if there was anything he could do to help my mother. One Sunday he even bought my lunch. What a dear sweet man. He will be missed by many
