James Hill Obituary

James Lincoln Hill, 97, died peacefully June 6 with his family by his side. He was a loving husband and a devoted father.
Born in Milton, MA to William F. and Mary Jane Hill, Jim was raised in Hyde Park. He started his career as freight manager for the American Woolen Company and worked as a dispatcher and bookkeeper for two transportation companies, the Town of Milton, and Droll Yankee until he retired.
Survivors include his son, Richard and daughter-in-law, Patricia Langelier; and grandson, James L. Hill and wife, Tricia Hill.
His first wife, Grace McLaughlin, sons, Peter and Jeffrey, and second wife Florence Packard predeceased him.
He served in World War II for three years as a Navy Seabee First Class.
Memorial services will be conducted in Chapel Hill, followed by burial in Milton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or a charity of the donor's choice.
The family would like to extend its thanks to his caregivers for their compassionate attention and to his many friends for their many acts of kindness shown to Jim during his twelve years in North Carolina.

Dear Dick & Pat,
We're so glad that we were able to see your dad again last fall at James' wedding. He was a wonderful man. I'm glad you were able to share your life for the last 12 years with him. He seemed very happy living with you. I can't imagine his excitement when the Red Sox won two World Series in the last few years. He of all people lived long enough to experience the Red Sox curse. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both. Can't wait to see you soon and give you both a big hug.
Love always
Marie & Ron
