Deacon James Authur Watkins, age 77, of 701 Peyton St., departed this life on Monday, March 3, 2014. Funeral, 12 Noon, Friday, March 7, 2014, Mount Peace Baptist Church, 1601 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Interment, Carolina Biblical Gardens.
Survivors; wife, Bettie L. Watkins of the home; daughter, Thomasene Watkins Robertson (Calvin) of Raleigh; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; aunts, Lessie M. Bridges of Raleigh and Ernestine Montague of Wendell; spiritual daughters, Patricia McNair, Diane Trice and Pamela Bromell and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation, 11:30 to 12 Noon, Friday, at the Church.
