Axton, Virginia - Jeff was born on Sept. 11, 1971 in Durham, NC and passed away on Sept. 13, 2025. He was the son of the late Bobby Gibson, Sr. and Jannette (Jennie) Ryder. Jeff was a graduate of Northern High School class of 1989. He began his radio career at the age of sixteen at WTIK in Durham, NC. His love of country music took him to many radio stations in NC, VA, New Mexico and eventually back to VA where he worked at WZBB-B99.9. On the air he was known as Dan "The Man" Taylor. Jeff had an equal live for UNC sports and Washington Redskins football. He could quote statistics for both irregardless of whether you wanted to know them or not! Jeff's love of people endeared him to many, his radio listeners and just ordinary people. His friendly smile and quick wit will be missed.
Jeff is survived by his mother Jannette (Jennie) Ryder, his brother Bobby W. Gibson Jr. and his beloved dog Caroline.
A celebration of life will be held on October, 4, 2025 at Hooker Field in Martinsville, Va. from 2pm-4pm. All are welcome to attend.
