Dear Silva family,

Jeffrey was a wonderful person. It is absolutely amazing to me how many people he touched during his short time here. I went to middle school and high school with him, and rode the bus with him for a few years. He was very talented and had a great sense of humor. I am so sorry for your loss. My family and I will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

Jeff was an awesome kid! He has been my neihgbor since he moved here from MA. I used to babysit him and his brothers and he was always a big help with Mikey. He knew how to make people smile! I will miss seeing him at Sheetz in that yellow Jeep.

Jeff Silva was and still remains one of my closest friends. I have known him since the age of 4 through soccer as well as school and couldn't be more grateful to have such a great friend in my life. He's an amazing kid, always smiling and keeping us in check. Having to carry his casket out of that church has been the hardest thing i've ever had to do. Jeff, you are forever one of my best friends and I'll miss you greatly. Until we meet again, man. I love you.

John, Sue, Jimmy and Mike,

I've had the privilege to be in your home so much over the last 3 1/2 years as I helped with Mikey. I've watched the kind of parents and brothers you are. I watched Jeff go through the 'awkward' years and through graduation and to his 18th birthday. We had so many talks, laughs and experiences, I feel I knew him almost like my own. I want you to know that you could not have been better parents and brothers. He was so loved and he loved you the same in return. His life was short, but it was blessed, because of the wonderful, close and loving family he is a part of. He watches from on high now, understanding it all whereas we cannot. But you will see him again, that is God's promise. Take comfort from all those who love you and grieve with you and know that you also are in God's loving hands. He will see you through this most painful of all experiences, the loss of a child and brother.

My love and deepest sympathy to you all,
Karen

I didn't know Jeff, but was shattered to hear of his death. When I say I know exactly how you are feeling, I do! I lost my son Chris Martin in a car accident on 11/15/03. He was 16 years old. He also played soccer at FVHS. I worked at the FVAA and I don't know you personally, but do recognize your name. My heart goes out to you. The days ahead will be hard, but keep him memory alive in your heart and in your life. That will help. We have a soccer scholarship that we give every year in Chris's memory. The FVAA also holds a 4 V 4 tournament in his memory in December that helps kids who can't afford to play soccer. You will be in my thoughts and prayers throughout the coming weeks and months. If you EVER need anyone to talk to, please feel free to give me a call or email me.
