Jimmy Frederick Gay, 74, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, December 10, 2017 at his home in Rolesville. He was born May 3, 1943 in Wake County to the late James Coolidge Gay and Miriam Underhill Gay. He retired after 32 years as a Life Insurance Agent. Jimmy was a Charter Member of the Rolesville Jaycees and a former Rolesville Volunteer Fireman. He and his wife, Judy worked at the State Fair operating J & J's Hot Dogs for 32 years. Jimmy enjoyed Nascar Racing, going to the mountains and Lake Gaston, and keeping his cars clean and shiny. He loved his family and spending time with his great-grandsons.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:45 am, Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Rolesville Baptist Church, 203 E. Young Street, Rolesville, 27571.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall.
Surviving: wife of 55 years, Judy Fulghum Gay; daughter, Leigh Ann Gay Jones (Kenny) of Wake Forest; granddaughter, Shelby Jones Brown (Christopher) of Youngsville; great-grandsons: Kenlee and Kasen Brown, sister, Janette Gay Pearce of Wake Forest; brother, Tommy A. Gay of Wake Forest; nephew, Randy Pearce (Melissa); sisters-in-law: Janie F. Dennis, Peggy F. Wood, Betsy F. Williams; brothers-in-law: Earnest "PeeWee" Fulghum, Jr., Larry B. Fulghum, Ronald E. Pearce; and many special nieces and nephews.
