John Suits Obituary

John Daniel Suits, 77, retired from the US Navy after 22 years of service, died Thursday, January 18, 2001 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late James Daniel and Gatha Clark Suits, a member of Hamilton Methodist Church, worked for NC Inspection Service for 17 years. He married Belle M. Suits in July of 1960 who survives.
Additional survivors: son, James Daniel Suits and wife, Janis of Raleigh; stepson, Charles Strickland of Hassell; stepdaughters, Tilie Cullipher and Sue Harlow, both of Winterville, Clara Vann of Mooresville; sisters, Norma Hartley of Inyokern, CA, Doris Harper of Eastern Shores, VA, Mary Zell Lewis of Richmond, VA; brother, Vernon C. Suits of Kinston; grandson, Jonathan Suits; six step grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 2001 at Biggs Chapelin Williamston with Rev. Johnny Williams officiating. Burial, Hamilton Cemetery with military honors.
The family willreceive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
