I have a fond memory of meeting and talking with Dr. Lovelace and her husband at the welcome picnic before starting the UNCG MPH program. They were happily grilling burgers for everyone to enjoy. We shared a moment of connection while chatting about a local theater troupe that we had both seen and appreciated. My interaction with Dr. Lovelace at the picnic helped me feel more connected to one of my new professors and very welcome within the UNCG PHE community.

This is a great loss for Kay's family, friends and colleagues. She was a great friend for many years and a dedicated photographer. I miss her.

I was a student (MPH) of Dr. Lovelace in 2000. I am saddened to hear of her passing. She was a passionate teacher and an advocate for healthcare justice for all.

I will always remember your smile, the loud laughs we shared, and the morning flowers we picked. You mentored me from student to colleague to friend. I will remember and spread your joy.

Kay was a favorite neighbor, advisor, and woman of the world in so many ways. She adored her students and created safe space for them to grow and learn about the many sides of today's challenges. She was patient and supportive, engaging, cheerful, and quick-witted. I will miss her daily walks and inspiration dearly.
