Kelsey Craig

August 10, 1981 - March 12, 2024

Wake Forest, North Carolina - Wake Forest: Kelsey Harward Craig, 42, passed away on March 12, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on August 10, 1981 in Durham, NC, to Earl Franklin Harward, Jr., and Kay Preddy Harward.

Kelsey was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, friend and nurse. She loved taking care of people even in her greatest time of need. She will never be forgotten.

Kelsey had a Bachelor's Degree from UNCG and an Associate's Degree in Nursing from Vance Granville Community College. When she graduated nursing school, she took a job at Duke University Medical Center in the General Pediatric and Pediatric Oncology Unit. After 10 years at Duke, she decided that she would take a job at Wake County as a school nurse in order to be closer to her kids. Taking care of children in the hospital setting and in the school setting was her passion and every one of them loved her.

Kelsey is survived by her husband, Joseph Mitchell "Mitch" Craig; son, Camden; daughter, Caroline; brother, Kevin Earl Harward and wife, Robin; nephews, Dylan and Blake; aunt, Sherron Harward; uncles, Mike Preddy and wife, Donna and Steve Preddy and wife, Sherrie; cousins, Alison Hawkins Lorenz and husband, Jeff (Chris, Avery, Maren & Miles), Megan Hawkins Day and husband, Jordan (River), Craig Preddy and wife, Christie (Kaylee & Bryson), Clay Preddy and Matthew Preddy. She is also survived by her father-in-law, James Craig and his wife, Pam, and mother-in-law, Bronnie Craig; sister-in-law, Andrea Armer and husband, Mike; nieces, Lillie and Ella and her brother-in-law, Hugh Craig.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 16th, 2024 1:00 PM at Summit Church, 3901 Capital Hills Dr., in Raleigh, NC. The Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the Church prior to funeral service.
