Kenneth Gant Obituary

Kenneth Gant, III, of 800 Old Mill Road, Chapel Hill, died peacefully after a brief illness on Wednesday morning, November 30th, 2005.
Ken was born in Burlington, on January 19, 1953.
He is survived by his parents, Kenneth Gant, Junior and Bettie Kendrick Gant, of Burlington.
Ken attended Burlington Day School and graduated from Walter Williams High School. He was graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He enjoyed a long career as a consummate salesman and president of his own company. He loved his Tarheels and a good game of golf. He shared his love of music with his many friends. His skills at the grill will be missed. Ken found time to coach boys> basketball and also played in a men>s league.
Ken is survived by his wife, Darrienne "Darri" Tull Gant; his three sons, Kenneth Gant, IV of Charlotte, Isaac Waring Tull Gant, and Michael Alexander Gant, both of Chapel Hill.
Ken is predeceased by his sister, Bettie Alexander Gant.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church, 304 E. Franklin St., Chapel Hill, N.C., on Saturday, December 3rd, 2005, at 2 p.m., by the Rev. Stephan Elkins-Williams, Rector.A reception will follow.
A memorial service will follow on Sunday, December 4, 2005, at 2 p.m., at The Episcopal Churchof the Holy Comforter in Burlington.
The family requests any donations to be made for the children's benefit, in care of Sun Trust Bank, Attn: Sean Frelke, 2601 Iron Gate Drive, Suite 101, Wilmington, N.C. 28412.
Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service is in charge of local arrangements.
