Kenneth Helser Obituary

Early Tuesday morning, March 2nd, Ken Helser teed off and made the drive of his life-all the way home.
Born on May 4, 1920, Ken grew up in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he graduated from Johnson High School. Drafted from the Minnesota National Guard, he served in the Pacific during WWII as a Chief Radar Instructor. He returned to his bride, Dorothy Edmundson, of Pikeville, NC, and set up home in Raleigh, where he graduated from Hardbarger Business College. After a long career with Standard Brands, Ken worked until retirement as a US Postal Carrier.
As a member of the North South Seniors Golfing Association, he will long be remembered for his love for the game and his incredibly sweet golf swing.
A member of Forest Hills Baptist Church, Ken is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of 60 glorious years. Their life of love birthed hearts for God in their three surviving sons and their wives: Ken and Linda Helser, Steven and Deborah Fox-Helser, and Russell (Rusty) and Norma Helser; and their six grandchildren; and six great grandsons; and one great granddaughter.
The Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at Forest Hills Baptist Church on Dixie Trail in Raleigh, NC.
Visitation at 12:00 PM, with service at 1:00 PM.
Please, no flowers, but Memorial gifts may be given to either Forest Hills Baptist Church, or A Place in the Heart, 4214 Beckerdite Road, Sophia, NC, 27350.
Arrangements by Capital Funeral Home, Raleigh.
