Kenneth Winton Obituary

Kenneth F. Winton passed away on December 4, 2006 after a courageous battle with melanoma.
The funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral chapel with visitation prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 and at other times at 104 Crown Point Rd., Greenville, NC.
He was a loving husband and father born on March 10, 1931 to Fred and Alma Winton of Norfolk, VA. He grew up in Bedford, VA and graduated from the College of William and Mary and was a Certified Public Accountant. He was a retired General Service Partner with the Raleigh office of McGladrey & Pullen and served as Financial Vice President of Duplin General Hospital for 12 years, retiring in 2001. He was also a member of AMBUCS and the Kenansville/Warsaw Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lena Mae Edwards Winton; daughters, Judy Winton Radford of Raleigh, Ginny Winton Petty and husband, Pete of Chesapeake, VA, Laura Winton Meadows and husband, Will of Auburn, AL and Linda Winton Pynn of Greenville, NC; sister, Dot Minnick of Poway, CA; brother, Bill Winton of Punta Gorda, FL; grandchildren, Patrick, Caity, Robben, Ashley, Erin, Abby, Lila, and Billy.
The family would like to thank the ECU Cancer Center, University Health Systems Home Health and Hospice, Dr. Rosa Cuenca, Dr. Walter Quan, Dr. Jorge Abdallah, and Dr. Kelly Philpot, as well as the PCMH nursing Staff, ED staff, and residents that helped to care for him.
The family also thanks their good friends who have provided emotional support.
