When someone we love falls asleep in death the memories we have of them become our treasure, may those cherished memories of a life well lived and Gods promise at John 6:40 bring you a measure of peace and comfort during this most difficult time. My deepest condolences to the family.

I worked for Kevin in the Marketing Department at CP&L. He was such a great boss and friend. He loved his family dearly, especially his boys. I never got to meet Sandra. One day at work Kevin called and said he was not coming back to the office, we were glad and thought maybe he was just going home early because he worked so many hours. He said he had been doing a presentation and the cap came off his tooth right during the presentation and he had to go get it fixed. The next morning we all took a box of raisins and covered our front tooth and smiled at him when he came into the office. He laughed and laughed at us. Kevin will certainly be missed on this earth but I bet he is celebrating with his son Trevor in Heaven now. My prayers to his new family and also to Lynn, my thoughts and prayers to you all.

Kevin was my first boss when I was 16 when he was President of the Garner Chamber of Commerce. There wasn't a day there that I wasn't always laughing and didn't want to come to work because of Kevin. He was my absolute favorite boss, and I'm sure he always will be- and an excellent President of the Chamber, breathing new life and energy to the organization and so many new members because of him. Anyone that knew Kevin could attest to his humor, kind heart, and genuine compassion for others. It was impossible not to smile when he was around. He left an indelible mark on the business community in Garner and will sorely be missed by so many in the Garner business community. I remember the time period when he was getting ready to marry Sandra. He was so excited he found the love of his life and spoke of how much he loved her and Trevor and Brett daily. My condolences to Sandra, Brett, his parents, Lynn and the family. He was truly one in a million. God bless Kevin Nelson.
