Louis "Lou" Salvatore Mallia, 101, died on January 17, 2018 at Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community.
Lou was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Moolick Mallia. He is survived by his daughter Karen Mallia and son-in-law Bruce Bakaj of Columbia, S.C.; his son and daughter-in-law, Louis P. and Lillian Mallia of Raleigh, NC; and three loving granddaughters, Christine and Nicole Mallia, and Emily Bakaj.
Lou was born in New York City, lived most of his life in Garfield, NJ and moved to Raleigh in 1998. Lou was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Air Forces during WWII.
A celebration of life will be held at Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community in Raleigh on January 26 at 2 pm. Memorial services and burial will be in Garfield, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Springmoor Endowment Fund, 1500 Sawmill Rd., Raleigh, NC 27615.
