Lucian Allen Peacock, Jr., 59, of 604 Mountain View Ave., Bluefield, WV, died Saturday, April 6, 2002 in a Bluefield hospital.
He was born on June 12, 1942 to Mary Reynolds Bradshaw Peacock and the lateLucian Allen Peacock, Sr. in Wilson, NC.
He was currently employed at Sam's Club where he was a Sales Associate and hadbeen Associate of the Year for the past two years. Mr. Peacock was also very involved in the community and his church. At theBland Street United Methodist Church he was Chairman and member of the Board of Trustees, chairman and member of the Administrative Board, President of the United Methodist Men's Club, and Chairman and member of the Founding Committee of the Bland Street Day School. Other community involvement included: Member of the Board of Trustees at St. Lukes Hospital, Member of the Citizens Advisory Council of the Mercer County Board of Education, Vice President of the Bluefield Kiwanis Club, and President of the Memorial Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization. Mr. Peacock was also formerly employed by Consolidated Brokerage Company of Bluefield, WV where he was Vice President.
He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Addington Peacock; daughters, Amy Trojanowski and husband, Brian, of Pottstown, PA, Catherine Finch and husband, Marc, of Fishers, IN; and a son, Lucian Allen Peacock, III of Virginia Beach, VA; mother, Mary Reynolds Peacock of Raleigh, NC; sisters, Rennie Peacock Beyer and husband, Louis, of Fayetteville, NC, and Anne Peacock DiPiazza of Colfax, NC; father-in-law, Kenneth S. Addington of Bluefield, WV; and a host of cousins; nieces; and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 9, 2002 from the Bland Street United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Warren Faulknier officiating. Burial will follow from the Monte Vista Park Cemetery, located in Green Valley where military graveside rites will be performed by the Honor Guard of the 150thArmored Battalion.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2002 at Mercer Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m.
