Luwanna Ray Obituary

Luwanna Ray
September 4, 1957 - June 9, 2022
Wake Forest, North Carolina - Luwanna Ray, 64, of Wake Forest passed away Thursday, June 9, 2022 at her home.
Luwanna was born and raised in Wake County, North Carolina. She attended and graduated from Wake Forest - Rolesville High School. During her teen years, she met and later married Charlie J. Ray, and would be celebrating their 47th wedding anniversary at the end of this month. A devoted and loving housewife, she and CJ went on to create a beautiful life and family together, raising two sons, Jason and Daniel Ray. A woman of incredible love, selflessness and integrity. An angel and caregiver here on earth, always a person to care for and put others first, she lovingly cared for her mother-in-law, Ovada Ray, and her best friend, Laura Reagan, until their passing in 2013 and 2018, respectively. A loving wife, a proud mother, a doting grandmother, a true friend.
Daughter, Tonya Ray, best friend, Laura Reagan and brother, Billy Reagan, precede her in death.
She leaves behind her husband, Charlie J. Ray, sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Kiera Ray of Wake Forest and Daniel and Sarah Burney of Apex, grandson, Samuel Ray and extended family, Chestley Harrison, Joyce Reagan, Tammy Reagan, Amanda Cosimini and fiancé Adam Steele and Godchildren, Nate, Lana and Silas.
A funeral service will be held Monday, June 13, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Bright Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Sykes Family Cemetery on New Light Road.
