Margaret Mcknight Obituary

Mrs. Margaret Taylor McKnight of 3A Fountain View Circle, Greensboro, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at her residence. She was a native of Nash County, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Eli McKnight,father James Edward Taylor, mother Nancy Bunting Taylor, brothers Ed Jr. and Jake.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2002 at 11 a.m. at Buffalo Presbyterian Church, with the Reverend Jesse Bledsoe officiating.
Mrs. McKnight was a member of Buffalo Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder, Sunday school teacher, Youth Director, a Bible teacher for the Ladies Bible Class and served as the Moderator of Presbyterian Women. She served on numerous Salem Presbytery committees and every committee of the church.
Mrs. McKnight was a 1942 graduate of Woman's College. She was also an honorary member of Summit Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow.
Tom and Margaret McKnight founded and worked together at McKnight Hardware from 1950-1982.
Mrs. McKnight is survived by one son, Thomas E. McKnight, Jr and wife Linda of Greensboro; one daughter, Nancy McKnight Binkley and husband Michael of Old Hickory, TN; one brother, John N. Taylor and wife Barbara ofTarboro; sisters-in-law, Doris McKnight and Katharine Thompson of Greensboro; Alice Kelley of Whytheville, VA; Nancy Donnellyof Long Beach, CA and Jean Taylor of Nashville, NC, five grandchildren, John, Jenny, and Taylor McKnight, Margaret Claprood and Amanda Ammerman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Buffalo Presbyterian Church Capital Fund,803 16th St., Greensboro, NC 27405 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405 or Thomas McKnight Scholarship Fund c/o Summit Rotary Club, PO Box 930, Greensboro, NC 27402.
Forbis and Dick, North Elm Street is serving the family of Mrs. McKnight.
