Mark David Hennrikus, 58, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, in Raleigh, NC.

A native of Waltham, MA, he was born on July 3, 1958, to the late James E. and Pauline T. Hennrikus. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol, of Clayton, NC; his mother, Pauline T; brothers, James, Michael, and Peter; sisters, Kathleen and Pauline; and niece, Stephanie. In 1994 he married Carol Keene Combs in MA and a year later they moved to Clayton, NC.

Mark worked primarily in sales and then food service/catering. Mark's Catering was a winner for Best Entrée in the Johnston County Arts & Food Festival and also won an award for Best Use of Local Ingredients at A Taste of Carolina Cuisine. He was an avid golfer and long-time member of Pine Hollow Golf Club in Clayton. He played in several bowling, darts, and softball leagues. He saw his Boston Red Sox win 2 World Series and, as a former season ticket holder, cheered the New England Patriots to 5 Superbowl championships.

Mark participated in many fundraising events for St. Baldrick's, a charity committed to funding promising research to find cures for childhood cancers. Memorial donations may be made in his name to the St. Baldrick's Foundation https://www.stbaldricks.org

A private burial was held.

I picked up my Globe on Sunday and was shocked and saddened to learn of Mark's passing. Please accept my deepest sympathies.We kind of lost touch over the years but I'll always remember the good times at the Pats games and shooting darts together.
